OSHCC Information
RE: Outside School Hours Child Care Provision (OSHCC)
I want to clarify the situation with our aftercare program: In Our Lady’s Care, the current program, will finish at the end of the school year and a new provider will commence at the beginning of the 2020 school year. I wish to reiterate that the closing of our current program is not a reflection on the current staff and program director Margaret Mangone. Margaret has run the program for over 23 years but unfortunately, due to changes in the governance requirements of Before and After School-care Programs our current arrangement is no longer viable.
In 2015 schools and parishes of the Melbourne Archdiocese were given direction in regards to governance and administration of Aftercare Programs. They specifically recommended that an external provider be engaged to provide outside school hours supervision. Since that date the recommendation has now become a requirement that the parish priest nor the parish be the provider of the program, as is our current arrangement.
At this stage I want to inform you that we have decided to engage Camp Australia to manage our before, after and holiday club services from day 1, Term 1 next year. .Camp Australia is the nation’s most experienced Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provider and supply safe, meaningful and engaging on site care, to help you balance time and responsibilities. Their programs build on the school values to further your child’s experience, needs and interests. Further information about the program, nutrition, parent fees, registration etc. will be provided by Camp Australia shortly.
I wish to reassure all members of our school community that our school will be providing a Before, After and Holiday service for the commencement of the 2020 school year. The program will be operating within our school grounds.
More information will be forthcoming at the appropriate time.
